This article tells you how to edit the DNS/MX settings or restore the default DNS settings for a domain or subdomain.
You can customise authoritative name servers and DNS records (CNAME-Record, A-Record, MX-Record, etc.) from the OVH customer area. If desired, you can also return to the default settings by following this procedure.
Log in to your OVH Customer Area.
Log in to the customer area using your login pair (nic-handle) – password.
Click on Login to confirm the operation
In the left menu, select Domains, then your Domain to edit
Click the DNS Zone tab to view your zone. Here you can consult your various fields present in this zone. For simplicity, you can also sort the display by field type.
Click on the three small dots and click edit the entry to make your change.
A DOT has to be added after the .com to close the record.
Fill in the MX1 and MX2 fields with the codes that were sent to you at the end of your installation.
It usually takes 24 to 72 hours for the entry to be propagated. After about 15 minutes you can query our DNS server, which is updated more quickly.
